-If you plan on sending treat bags to school for Halloween, please remember that only non-food items will be accepted. We have 20 students in our class, (9 girls and 11 boys).
-Please encourage your child to capitalize the first letter of his/her name and make the remainder of the letters lower case.
-Your child should read his/her baggie book every night. Parents should sign the reading log and return the book the following school day.
-Please have your child practice counting for the 100 Club!
We will be working on the letters "e" & "r". Students will learn each letter name and sound, along with how to properly write them. Our sight words will be "do", "you" & "go".
-Identify commas, periods and exclamation points during shared reading and understand their purposes
-Practice reading by pointing under each word, looking for picture clues, looking for sight words and finding patterns in words
-Listen to books about fire prevention
-We will continue Unit 2, "Numbers to Ten". Students will:
-Compare dot cards to determine which one is "greater than" and which one is "less than"
-Practice pushing the beads on a rekenrek in groups rather than pushing by 1’s
-Use a rekenrek to build combinations of five
-Discover the concept of tallying by using popsicle sticks
-Build quantities shown on tally display cards
